Docudays UA featuring Iranian documentary

Iranian doc ‘Finding Farideh’ is participating at the Docudays UA in Ukraine.

Iranian documentary ‘Finding Farideh’ has been participating at the Docudays UA International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival in Ukraine.

Co-directed by Azadeh Mousavi and Kourosh Ataee, ‘Finding Farideh’ is being displayed at the 16th edition of the Docudays UA which is underway in Kiev.

The film will also be screened at the 5th edition of the Iranian Film Festival of Zurich (IFFZ) in Switzerland, slated to kick off on Thursday.

The story of 'Finding Farideh' begins with a newspaper report which reads a young woman who was adopted by a Dutch family is looking for her biological parents.

Last month, the documentary was screened at the 16th edition of the Big Sky Film Festival in the US.

'Finding Farideh' also represented Iran at the 2018 edition of the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) in Australia.

The film has received various awards at several festivals, including the Cinema Verite international documentary film festival in Iran and Iran Documentary Independent Award.

The 16th edition of the Docudays UA International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival kicked off in Kiev on March 22, 2019, and will run until March 30.
